Anthony Charles Kariel
Tony qualified as a Dentist in 1983 with a BDS (Hons). He later gained post graduate qualifications becoming a member of The Faculty of General Dental Practitioners. He is a past Secretary and President of The London Dental Study Club. Tony has attended many courses on dental phobia and has written a number of articles on how to support nervous patients.
Special interests and skills :
Work with anxious/dental-phobic patients over 39 years. Centred around cosmetic/aesthetic dentistry and smile design.
Also fascinated by the manifold ever evolving techniques we use in endodontics, Oral surgery and restorative work,including 3D printing to fabricate ceramic crowns, bridges, inlays and veneers in a single visit.
Working with my colleague whom I qualified with from The Royal London Hospital, on simple and complex implant cases, using a particularly interesting and hugely successful, osseo-integrated implant system, to literally give people their teeth back, if they are unfortunate enough to lose any.

My Family
I have 3 great children, all of whom have all recently graduated, so I have a visible glow of pride around me at all times! Trying to control my excitement and enthusiasm about their ever surprising interests and amazing achievements. Simply trying my utmost to be the best dad I can be on various levels.
Some of my passions
My passions outside of dentistry : Bruuuce – there is nothing I can say to explain the power and meaning of his lyrics and the sheer awesome sound of the E Street Band. Watching “Springsteen and I” and “Springsteen on Broadway” conveys this better than I ever could. These programmes are essential viewing for all humans that like music of any kind
GOSH – 35 years involvement starting with Radio GOSH back in the 80s, through organising numerous charity events over the years to raise funds for this amazing hospital. Norwood International Bike rides in UK, Brazil, India and another charity in Israel. Norwood is an amazing organisation and I am truly humbled by those who do so much, that my efforts seem tiny in comparison.
Arsenal & Mallorca
Arsenal Football Club – not just a supporter but a history with the Arsenal setup. Legend Vic Akers who I am privileged to call a friend. From there, numerous players in the Ladies, mens and youth teams. Plus many of the support staff from medical, physios, masseurs, fitness and playing coaches, analysts, HR, logistics and management. It’s been a fascinating journey of discovery and I am grateful to Vic for setting me on that path.
Mallorca has been my escape for more years than I can remember. Getting away to my bolt-hole near Port Adriano whenever possible and enjoying all aspects of Spanish life with my circle of friends there
